Our facilities
La Querencia Cohousing is situated on 2.8 acres and includes 28 homes arranged along a walking path that runs through the entire community. This path creates natural opportunities for neighbors to see and connect with each other throughout the day. The path leads to the large common house, where we hold meetings, share meals, and celebrate birthdays and other special occasions.
The community also offers a variety of shared spaces for gathering and interaction, including a swimming pool and spa, a gym, a workshop and crafts room, bike shed, children’s play areas, the community garden, laundry room and landing areas along the walkway between homes.
These shared facilities provide the benefits of a larger home while allowing residents to enjoy the comfort and privacy of their own smaller spaces.

Private Homes
La Querencia has a mix of homes, including flats and two-story townhouses. The flats have two bedrooms and are located at ground or upstairs level. The townhouses have three to five bedrooms. All the homes include a front and back patio or a balcony.
Homes range from 1100 to 1900 square feet. Most feature open floor plans designed to feel bright and airy. Most households have a one car garage which must be used for parking a car. parking space in the gated lot at the rear of the property.
La Querencia has 28 private homes consisting of four sizes/styles:
2 bedroom, 1¾ bath upstairs or downstairs flats, 1,100 +/- square feet.
3 bedroom, 2½ bath townhouses, 1,500 +/- square feet.
4 bedroom, 2¾ bath townhouses, 1,700 +/- square feet.
5 bedroom, 3½ bath townhouses, 1,900 +/- square feet.

Common house
Our 3,800-square-foot common house is the hub of La Querencia. Its large dining room hosts community meals, meetings, and special events. The attached kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for the community or preparing for parties.
It’s common to see neighbors relaxing in the living room or someone chopping vegetables for a shared meal. Fast Wi-Fi makes it easy to work quietly, and seating areas in the living room provide comfortable spots to talk, read or watch a movie during community movie nights. A small library and a selection of community-related magazines are also available for residents to enjoy.
The common house also has practical shared spaces. Washers and dryers in the laundry room are available to all residents. A guest room with a private bathroom is available for residents to reserve on a first-come, first-served basis.

Outdoor fun
Outside, residents share spaces for gardening and play. The grassy area beside the common house is used for soccer, volleyball, and other games. There’s also a new playground with a giant sandbox, a tetherball, and a basketball hoop, as well as a large swimming pool and spa. A gym is available for exercising.
Our shared workshop is well equipped and a point of pride for the community, offering tools and space for residents to work on projects and repairs.
The garden team is always happy to welcome new members to help care for the raised beds, herbs, and fruit trees.
The Common House is the heart of La Querencia—a sprawling extension of your private home designed for connection and ease.
Start your evening in the Great Room, where the scent of a shared meal fills the air and neighbors gather around the table to connect and unwind. While you relax by the fire in the Sitting Room, kids can play and explore in the nearby Play Room.
Whether you’re hosting friends or family in the Guest Suite, enjoying the sunset on the Terrace, or simply saying hello to a neighbor along the way, these everyday moments are where community comes to life.
More than a building, the common house is where neighbors gather, connect, and feel at home together.
